Spectrasol Applications

Sample Type: Powdered & Liquid Milk

|
Preparation: |
Prepare a 10% aqueous solution of the Spectrasol CFA-C reagent
and adjust its pH to 8 with re-distilled HNO3.
Dissolve 0.1 gm of milk powder (or 1.0 mls liquid milk) in 10.0
mls (or 9.0mls) of 10% Spectrasol CFA-C adjusted to pH 8.
Use rinse solution of 3% (v/v) ammonia after every two samples
to prevent clogging.
|
Results: |
Comparison of ICP results (n = 4) using a 10% solution of the
Spectrasol CFA-C reagent to NIST 1549 non-fat milk powder SRM. |

Discussion: |
ICP-MS analysis was also used where the samples were prepared
as 0.2gm of milk powder (or 2.5 mls liquid milk) dissolved in
49.5 mls (or 47.0 mls) 5% CFA-C solution adjusted to pH 8.
