In 1989 we published a paper showing that we could use the Spectrasol
Zeolite (Z) reagent to neutralize the hydrofluoric acid (HF) in a zeolite digest
and analyze the digest for silicon by ICP using a Meinhard nebulizer,
glass spray chamber and glass torch.

Spectrasol pioneered the field of designing sample preparation reagents exclusively for ICP and ICP-MS analysis. |
From there we went on to develop the Spectrasol Coal Fly Ash (CFA) reagents to prepare samples containing fluoride insoluble elements like
calcium and rare earths. Lately, we have extended the use of the Spectrasol reagents to include such applications as reducing ArCl+ interferences in ICP-MS analysis and the dissolution of milk products without the need for digestion. |
